A die-hard Star Wars fan was afraid he might not be able to see the latest episode of the saga, Le Réveil de la Force, which hits December 16 in France and December 18 for the rest of the world. Daniel Fletwood, a 32-year-old American, is now reassured. On November 5, he was the first to watch the film in its unfinished version, at his home in Texas. A Disney production team came on purpose to make her wish come true.
Far from being a whim, this dream come true is undoubtedly the last wish that will have been granted for this thirty-something suffering from a Cancerterminally ill. Knowing that Daniel Fletwood only has two months to live, his wife decided to launch an appeal on the Internet and in particular on social networks so that his companion can see the film in preview.
His message was supported and relayed by American actors. Word of mouth from the web has worked as the call has climbed to Disney and director JJ Abrams who were affected by this request.
On Facebook Daniel’s wife expressed her gratitude to the director in a message posted on Facebook : “We want to thank the incredibly talented JJ Abrams for calling us in person to tell us that Daniel’s dream would be fulfilled.”
