Sleep clinicians place little value on content dreams. “For scientists, the dream is considered as a simple physiological reaction caused by the sensations coming from the body and the environment: to try to interpret them would be pure fantasy.“explains psychotherapist Michèle Freud, author of Children, teenagers, help them finally sleep.
However, when we have the impression that our dreams have something to tell us, psychotherapy can be useful.
The dreams that come up most often
1. The fall. Falling from a building, from a mountain that we are climbing… This dream is often interpreted as “the red flag” of our subconscious, when we face professional or relational difficulties.
2. Losing a tooth. Considered a symbol of power and confidence, their loss is interpreted as a sign of a loss of self-confidence.
3. Getting naked at school or at work. Sign of vulnerability and anxiety according to most dream analysts.
4. Die. A dream that would indicate wanting to end something in your life to start a new project.
5. Meet a star, a famous personality. A relatively frequent dream, according to analysts, which undoubtedly evokes a personal need for recognition.
6. Being chased. Despite the unpleasant and sometimes frightening feeling of this dream which can turn into a nightmare, it is often considered a positive sign to encourage the dreamer to face a problem.
7. Deceive or be deceived. Dream associated with the sign of a lack of confidence in the romantic relationship.
8. Waking up late. A warning like an “alarm bell” to people who are overwhelmed or who do too much.
9. Steal. Some analysts interpret it as a sign of loss of control. Others see a more positive meaning in it, stealing being perceived as an encouragement to let go, to let things happen.
10. Being pregnant. Or the need, it seems, to embark on a creative project or follow the thread of a new idea.
