After several lawsuits and sneers, a genuine fit between Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos appears to have arisen. Battle of the Billionaires!
There are few people on earth who have anything in common with Jeff Bezos. Elon Musk and the American space cowboy, on the other hand, can be one of the only ones on this planet to talk about what it’s like to be a centimillionaire. Yet the two turn out to be more competitors than friends. Elon Musk sends out a very aggressive Tweet this week in which Jeff Bezos is ridiculed.
Elon Musk roast Jeff Bezos
In a response to a background article by pcmag Musk fires proverbial shots at Bezos: “Apparently Besos retired to pursue a full-time job taking SpaceX to court.” Strikingly, super genius Musk misspells the name of the Amazon CEO here. It can hardly be otherwise than that this was done on purpose.
With his insult, he responds to two Amazon cases against SpaceX. The most recent case describes a letter from Amazon’s satellite internet company Kuiper Systems to the US FCC. Just like Starlink (which is also Musk’s), Kuiper Systems wants to provide the entire planet with internet via satellites. The company is calling on the FCC to review new legislation in favor of Starlink. Reportedly, Amazon wants to prevent Starlink from shooting second-generation internet satellites into the sky.
The second reason why Elon Musk apparently has some negative feelings towards Jeff Bezos is the fact that the latter recently sued him after NASA chose SpaceX for a one-month landing. According to Amazon’s Blue Origin, NASA did not look closely at the proposal and wrongly chose SpaceX. You don’t have to be a scientist to see why NASA chose SpaceX: That contract cost half what Blue Origin was asking!
