We find it with pleasure and we leave it, very often, with regret. We spend a third of our lives there. Nevertheless, the bed puts us in beautiful sheets. Or rather the reverse.
Sixteen varieties of microbes would share our layer. The author of these investigations is called Philip Tierno. A microbiologist and researcher at New York University, he made amazing discoveries in our sheets. Traces of earth and oil rub shoulders with dust mites, pollen, remains of animal faeces.
“With such a level of bacteria, even if you don’t have an allergic background, you develop a reaction,” said Philip Tierno in an interview with the Business Insider.
Based on this observation, the scientist recommends changing your sheets every week and your bedding every 10 to 15 years. A bed stores 100 liters of sweat per year!
