Humiliations, violence, the hospital is not spared by the scandals which punctuate the news of recent days. Questioned by Pourquoidocteur, Dr Valérie Auslender testifies.
They dreamed of studying medicine or becoming a nurse, some lost their illusions during their internship or their training at the hospital. In his book, “Omerta at the hospital” (1), Dr Valérie Auslender gathered the testimonies of 130 students who were victims of verbal violence or humiliations suffered during their apprenticeship. This general practitioner explores, with experts, the reasons for this process of destruction in which the aggressor of today becomes the aggressor of tomorrow.
