How does the penis “work”?
There is no bone in the human penis which makes it become quite hard and which allows sexual intercourse in all circumstances, unlike other mammals (horse, dog, whale …). No, in humans, the penis is made up of two … sponges called corpora cavernosa, themselves made up of tiny “caverns” which become engorged with blood within seconds during erection. Since the penis is surrounded by a non-stretchy envelope, it swells and straightens when it is full. When penetration takes place, the foreskin is removed. The orifice (or urinary meatus) which allows the exit of the sperm, triples in volume during the phase of excitation.
But the sexual order takes place above all in the brain, it is indeed this which sends, via the spinal cord, orders of stimulation intended for the arteries which supply the cavernous bodies. The rest of the time, that is to say most often, the blood going to the penis is limited to keep the penis at rest. As the sexologist Jacques Waynberg likes to say, “the natural state of man is impotence. THE’erection is an emergency in connection with the erotic function, or an unconscious reflex. “
After quarantine, if all the sexual mechanics persist, it is generally slower, due to a very gradual drop in testosterone levels. As the penis and testes are under the control of hormones (“hormone dependent” as doctors say), their activity is obviously influenced by this drop in stimulation.
What is the average penis size?
At rest, the penis size fits in a range of 7 to 11 cm, with a diameter of 3 cm. When erect, the penis measures 12 to 16 cm with a diameter of 4 cm. Of course, there are smaller (10cm) and larger (up to 24cm) yards. The measurement refers to the pubic bone at the end of the glans. The final size of the sex is reached at puberty.
Wink: a Spanish doctor, Dr Edouardo Gomez de Diego, boss of the firm Andromedical, specializing in the lengthening of the male sex, conducted the survey at an international level on the usual size of the penis. For him, the thing is certain, the French are the big winners, with an average length of 16 cm in erection. Next come the Italians (15 cm), followed by the Mexicans (14.9 cm). The smallest penises are those of South Koreans (9.6 cm).
Is the size of the penis essential for the pleasure?
The answer is no ! In the vast majority of cases, the sensitive areas of the woman are located on the outside, on the clitoris, and 2 or 3 cm in the entrance to the vagina, at the level of the point G. A sex of Lilliputian would therefore theoretically do the case. “It is important to understand what is bothersome in the size of the sex”, underlines Dr. Sylvain Mimoun, gynecologist, andrologist, co-author of “Sex and feelings, male version and female version” (ed. Albin Michel). “Sometimes the worry sets in because the partner is not satisfied. The partner of the precocious ejaculator said to him: “I don’t feel you”. Translates to him: “I am not big enough (or long)”, and focuses on the size of his penis instead of being interested in the duration of the report. What matters in fact is the hardness of the penis and the duration of sexual play. If the man dares to pronounce exciting sentences, reinforcing the feminine imagination, he will boost the sensations of his partner “You feel that I am going far (deep)”. The sex-active drugs which improve the quality of the erection or the duration of it, bring more satisfaction to the partner, which proves that the size of the penis was not in question …
A circumcised sex, what does that change?
We have heard everything about the circumcision that this practice increased the pleasure of the man, that it decreased the sensitivity of the glans … In fact, it would seem that there is neither doping effect of circumcision, nor “slowing down” effect either when the glans is normal. On the other hand, in the presence of phimosis, the skin covering the glans is too tight. In this case, it becomes difficult to retract the glans and the man feels pain during masturbation or sexual intercourse. It is usually sufficient to make a simple incision on the foreskin to widen the opening and solve the problem. In the event of severe phimosis, consideration should be given to removing the foreskin itself, thus circumcising. “This is where we have to ask the important question: do we need the moderate sliding of the foreskin on the glans to trigger orgasm? If so, circumcision may be discouraged and the simple enlargement of the foreskin remains preferable, recommends Dr Sylvain Mimoun. If not, circumcision will provide relief. “
In addition, circumcision would be a protective factor against the transmission of HIV, which is why the WHO has recommended the practice in developing countries where the use of condoms was not sufficient. Beware of the false sense of security!
