Advertising promises radiant skin
The skin of the face is important. People prefer to look radiant, healthy and not too wrinkled. There are thousands of face creams that promise this. But what is true of the promises made by commercials?
Promise: Grooming prevents aging
No cream can prevent the skin from aging. What the cream can do is minimize the outward appearance. For example, some products stimulate the natural production of collagen in the skin. This ensures that wrinkles are less deep.
There are also creams that contain vitamin B3 or niacinamide. Vitamin B3 stimulates the production of new skin fats in the skin. It is therefore a popular ingredient for skin rejuvenation products. B3 is safe, and there is growing scientific evidence that it actually works. However, be aware that not every cream contains enough niacinamide to have an effect. When it’s at the very back of the ingredient list, it’s probably of little use.
What many people do not know is that many wrinkles are caused by a lack of moisture in the skin. The cream adds moisture, which restores the balance. Then it seems as if the wrinkles disappear. These are not real wrinkles, but dehydration symptoms.
Statement: Every skin needs skin cream
It is not true that every skin gets better with the use of care products. In fact, a skin on which the wrong cream is applied can actually deteriorate.
But your skin can also improve enormously and feel healthier. Provided the correct product is used. It is therefore wise to consult an expert (for example a beautician) for advice. After all, every skin is different and needs different care.
Statement: You can’t start early enough with skin care
This is true. It is good to start rubbing and caring as early as possible. Choose a cream that suits your skin type and age.
Q: Does a moisturizing complex exist?
The word seems to appear in every advertisement: moisturizing. We have become so used to the word and its (urged) necessity that we don’t really know what it is anymore.
Hydrating means that it helps repair damage caused by the sun, heat, wind and environmental pollution. So it is certainly important to use a moisturizing cream. But actually all products are these days. So it no longer needs to be specially promoted.
Q: Is using a separate day and night cream best?
Use a day cream during the day and sleep with a night cream. Is that really necessary? The answer to that is yes. The day cream protects the skin against external influences. In the evening, the skin needs a different kind of care.
At night, skin cells divide twice as fast. When they receive the extra care and ingredients via a cream, the division of the cell process goes better. That is why the night cream is of a thicker, oilier substance.
In addition, if it is good to clean your face before going to sleep. Many products extract natural substances from the skin. The skin therefore needs extra nutrition to recover.
If you do not have a special product for the night, you can also use day cream. The most important thing is that you also take care of your skin in the evening!
Your skin is unique
No matter what skin product manufacturers make promises, the most important thing is that the skin gets the care it needs. Try to find the product that best cares for your skin. Every skin is unique.
