Cultivated for millennia in Asia, rice is now consumed all over the world. The vast majority of its active compounds are contained in the husk that surrounds the seed, the rice bran. True treasure of beauty, in the form of an oil or a scrub, these ingredients are full of resources to pamper the skins often abused by sportswomen.
What is that ?
It is from rice bran that a pure vegetable oil is obtained by cold pressing. Rich in protective antioxidants and nourishing phytosterols, it offers an ideal synergy to protect the skin from skin aging and external aggressions. When sprayed, the rice bran particles are effective in providing gentle exfoliation of the skin without irritating it. Finally, by penetrating into the heart of the hair, the proteins in rice bran play a fortifying and volumizing role in shampoos and hair care.
Why is it good for sportswomen?
Thanks to its complex of anti-free radical molecules, the oil fights against skin aging and protects against oxidative aggressions (wind, UV …). Moisturizing and soothing by the presence of phytosterols, it is also known to activate the microcirculation of complexions asphyxiated by the surrounding pollution. Its dry touch is ideal after sport to leave the skin soft without feeling of a greasy film. Against fine, soft, lacking volume and tired hair, rice proteins swell with water and give an interesting volumizing effect for hair that is difficult to comb.
How should I use it?
On the skin, vegetable oil can be applied pure, because it penetrates fairly quickly into the skin, or mixed with essential oils, or even other vegetable oils as a face or body care cream. In a minute recipe, you can easily concoct an anti-redness face oil by mixing 250 ml of rice bran oil with 30 drops of essential oil of cistus (resinous shrub from the Mediterranean basin). In ready-to-use cosmetics, there are rice bran scrubs well suited to facial or body care. Stores specializing in natural products offer rice protein in a liquid form that can be combined with other ingredients to make shampoos or homemade hair care products.
