An apocalypse, blood, zombies and the future. Netflix lifts a corner of the veil of the new live-action series Resident Evil, from July 14 on Netflix.
Last year Netflix already released Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, but this summer it’s the turn of a brand new Resident Evil series. Separate from last year’s movie and apart from the famous game. Anyway, the story is of course based on the game.
Netflix has sent out the first trailer and we see that the series takes place in two timelines. One in the here and now, 2022, and a timeline in 2036, in post-apocalyptic London. Set in that timeline in 2036, fourteen years after a deadly virus sparked a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights to survive in a world of bloodthirsty zombies. In this gory version of London, she is haunted by her New Raccoon City past. Where her father was the head of Umbrella Corporation and where something happened to her sister Billie…
The series is based on the game Resident Evil, but follows its own storyline. Just nice horror with the necessary action. From July 14 on NetflixHere’s the trailer for the enthusiast.
