He now fits better with the line-up
Sometime before 2012, Mazda decided that there was no need at all to build turbos on engines, while all brands switched to turbocharged engines. Ten years later, the Mazda CX-5 is one of the few remaining non-turbocharged SUVs in Europe. And apparently it still likes it, because Mazda has just renewed the CX-5 so that it can take it again. For a change, Mazda actually changes something to the appearance.
No turbo again?
The Mazda CX-5 got one turbo version over the years, but it never came to the Netherlands. The engine range of the new Mazda CX-5 is unknown, but the starting price is approximately the same at 35,990 euros, so we do not expect any major changes. So take into account two petrol versions: one with 165 hp and one with 194 hp. The latter is only available with an automatic transmission. A diesel with 184 hp was also available with the pre-facelift.
What’s different about the CX-5?
The biggest difference is in the front bumper, which makes the Mazda CX-5 more similar to the current Mazda 3 and CX-30. The front and rear lights are new and there is a new color called Zircon Sand. You now also get a wireless charger, a new button for the driving modes and the luggage space has increased by 73 liters. There are also new trim levels. According to Mazda, the car drives better and there is more effective sound insulation. The car will arrive in the Netherlands at the end of 2021.
