On the occasion of the launch of the production of the Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric, we can discover in a video the basic version and its simplified light signature as well as the new “efficient” shield which allows to gain 20 km of autonomy on the EV60 model.
Renault’s Electricity division, which brings together the Douai, Maubeuge and Ruitz factories in Hauts-de-France and specializes in the production of electric vehicles, is in the process of preparing for the assembly of the new Mégane E-Tech Electric. A video published by the manufacturer on this subject allows you to discover an unprecedented variant of the “zero emission” compact, not yet officially presented.
A simplified light signature
The white cars that can be seen at the beginning of the video are pre-production Mégane E-Tech Electric with entry-level finish. Their front face is different from that of the variants available for pre-booking since September 6. The vertical element of the daytime running lights of the latter is here replaced by a black plastic.
An option to improve autonomy?
In addition, the design of the front bumper is simpler, with a single central air intake with rounded contours instead of two with marked edges. No “F1” blade on this variation therefore, and a less raised mesh of the ventilation grid. On either side of it, we finally notice a horizontal fin passing through each of the gills placed at the corner of the shield. This specific shield called “efficient” will save 20 km of autonomy (from 450 to 470 km) on the EV60 version of 220 hp but it will only happen in a second time after the launch of the Mégane E-Tech Electric in March 2022.
