Preparation
- Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems, peel them and cut them into quarters.
- Peel the shallots and onion, cut them into slices. Rinse the lentils.
- Place the shallot and onion rings and the lentils in a saucepan with 50 cl of water.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomatoes and chilli then continue cooking for 5 minutes.
- Add the curry, the cinnamon stick and the cardamom pods.
- Mix and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Remove the cinnamon stick and mix everything.
- Pour in the coconut milk and put back on low heat for 5 minutes.
- Brown the cumin seeds in a well-oiled pan for a few minutes.
- Sprinkle the dish with these seeds and a few coriander leaves when ready to serve.
