Years ago I had surgery on one ear for hearing loss. I got a new so-called stirrup, after which the problem was solved. Now my hearing is getting worse with the other ear as well. I actually want another operation like this, even though ear doctors tell me to buy a hearing aid. But isn’t such a quick operation much cheaper? Why is it no longer running all of a sudden?

An operation on the auditory ossicles is usually done in the condition of otosclerosis, in which those bones have grown together and your hearing becomes increasingly poor. This problem is especially common among young people. I think you have something different this time, which is hearing impairment due to the impairment of the function of the auditory nerve, or age-related hearing loss. Surgery will not help.
