Each week until the first round of the presidential election, L’argus details the proposals of the main candidates concerning the automotive sector. Marine Le Pen (RN) spoke on two key themes: industrial sovereignty and the preservation of purchasing power.
On Monday March 14, the Mobilians, PFA, Fiev and CSIAM teams welcomed the candidates (or rather their respective representatives) to the Salle Gaveau in Paris. The National Rally was present in the person of Jean-Philippe Tanguy, who developed several aspects of his candidate’s program. Marine Le Pen has powerful and sometimes quite unique measures. Here’s what to remember.
Fight against “punitive taxation”
Jean-Philippe Tanguy made it clear: his party is against the forced and too fast electrification of the car. It states that ” the automotive sector is blamed, has become a danger or a constraint for society”. Convinced that we has diverted the automobile into a punitive and guilt-inducing tax system »the RN does not want “ sacrifice thermal, otherwise the car will become a luxury product very quickly ».
To counter this trend, Marine Le Pen wants to bring hybrid technology into the panoply of so-called clean vehicles. A way to oppose European standards, of course, and therefore not to impose 100% electric for everyone. Mr. Tanguy also suggested adding a ” €1,000 loan to switch your car to bioethanol”. Finally, like a snub to the mayor of Paris, the representative explained himself on ” the ZFE project or the creation of lawless zones. Marine Le Pen will abolish the ZFEs because ecology must be done by incitement”.
Help the French financially
The National Rally is firm on the subject of fuel. ” It’s been six months since I proposed to lower VAT from 20% to 5.5% on energy (electricity, gas, fuel, etc.) in order to return 12 billion euros to the French. We must go further and remove the fuel tax increases (TICPE) decided by Emmanuel Macron in 2017 and 2018. This statement by Marine Le Pen caused a stir in February. She asserts that these measures would reduce diesel by 44 cents per liter and gasoline by 34 cents per liter.
The other main proposal of the candidate would be to nationalize the highways. ” This will make it possible to lower the price of tolls by 10 to 15%, to deliver one and a half billion euros per year to the State budget and thus to implement land redevelopment policies”she explained at the start of her campaign.

Promote French innovation
Regarding companies, Jean-Philippe Tanguy wants an incentive to train young people, with 200 or 300 € additional monthly per apprentice. On March 14, he bid on the joint work of “ the state and the automotive industry, which must work hand in hand in order to innovate and offer the right technologies”. This is why Marine Le Pen is very attached to hydrogen, the merits of which she praises almost everywhere.
The candidate also wants to create a cooperation subsidiary, in particular via free zones and development bonuses”, like many parties on the right. Finally, the RN offers “ the creation of a National Agency for the control of heavy and rare metals, which will be open to European countries, volunteers to become sovereign again and which have a common interest in creating supply chains”. Like what, economic sovereignty would not be incompatible with the sharing of wealth…
