Ingredients
-
½ l pomegranate juice
-
100 grams of sugar
-
3 tablespoons red port
-
1 pomegranate
Preparation
Heat half of the pomegranate juice with the sugar and let the sugar dissolve. Add the rest of the juice and port. Let the mixture cool. Make ice in an ice cream maker according to directions. Or pour the mixture into a shallow dish and freeze it in the freezer. Mix it regularly with a fork to prevent crystal formation. Take the ice cream out of the freezer about 10 minutes before serving to soften it a bit.
Cut off the top and bottom of the pomegranate. Break or cut the pomegranate into pieces. Pick the seeds out of the fruit with your fingers. Remove all white membranes, because they give a bitter taste. Divide the ice cream over 4 coupes and garnish with the pomegranate seeds.
