The value of Pokémon cards has increased enormously in recent years. On Marktplaats you can find a set that is for sale for 75,000 euros.
When you used to trade Pokémon cards in the schoolyard, you had no idea what astronomical value they have now. In an undamaged and virtually unused condition, of course. Cards that you used to just have in your hands can now be worth tens of thousands of euros.
It depends on how rare a card is and what its condition is. The trade in Pokémon cards is also in the Netherlands big business. on Marktplaats.nl we found a collection of cards offered by a private individual. It is a set that includes the Charizard card. The set is for sale for 75,000 euros.
Whether the set will actually yield that much money remains to be seen. Firstly, it is possible to make an offer from as little as 25,000 euros. Moreover, Marktplaats is a fairly small market for this kind of niche items. Enthusiasts with deep pockets should only just look here, but you don’t really appeal to the international market with it. Internationally, however, the competition is fierce, unless you have really rare cards. But then we are already talking about tons in euros.
