- From today, there is no travel limit and reopening of bars, cafes and restaurants.

- The release of phase 2 of the deconfinement is scheduled for June 22.
“Freedom becomes the rule again and prohibition is the exception“, said the Prime Minister, Édouard Philippe, at the end of May during a press conference presenting the new measures of phase 2 of the deconfinement. A decree has just been published to specify the terms and conditions, which will take effect this Tuesday, June 2. The health measures that had been decided in the context of the state of health emergency will be relaxed. The deconfinement map is mostly green, with the exception of the departments of Île-de-France, Mayotte and La Réunion, which remain orange due to their health situation.
Prefects may limit travel
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday June 2, several restrictions will be lifted. First of all, travel, hitherto prohibited beyond 100 kilometers, will no longer have any limit. This measure is valid in all territories, even those classified as orange. If necessary, the decree stipulates that the prefects will have the power to restrict them again, at the level of an entire department or by targeted areas. Another key measure, the reopening of cafes and restaurants, total in the green zone but partial in the orange zone where customers can only sit on the terrace. All establishments must respect a separation of one meter between tables and a limit of 10 people per table. In the event of an epidemic danger, the prefects will be able to order the closure of shops, schools or places of worship.
Capping the prices of hydro-alcoholic solutions and masks
Everyone must remain vigilant and continue to apply hygiene and social distancing measures. This is an important point, recalled in this decree which insists on the fact that they must “be observed in any place and in any circumstance”. Just like wearing a mask, which remains compulsory for all French people from the age of eleven on trains, planes, boats, public transport as well as in stations and airports. The decree also caps the price of hydro-alcoholic solutions and masks at “95 euro cents all taxes included per unit, regardless of the method of distribution”. The decree also recalls that the mask is compulsory for “college and high school students on the go” and for the staff of establishments welcoming children. On the other hand, school teachers will not be obliged to wear it “when they are in class and are at least one meter away from the students”.
All of these new provisions will certainly be reassessed on June 22, the release date of phase 2 of the deconfinement.
