In Argentina, Peugeot still offers the first generation 308, 2008 and Partner, although their career ceased several years ago in France. In this South American country focused on French brands, these models have undergone some recent changes.
French manufacturers have long been acclaimed in Argentina, and it is not uncommon for certain models stopped here to continue their career there for a little longer. This was notably the case of the Renault Fuego, which was produced and sold locally there until 1992 when it had left the French market seven years earlier. This “tradition” continues with the other manufacturers in France. Thus, at Peugeot, the current Argentinian range has no less than three models which have not been offered in France for several years. Despite their age, these cars remain expensive there, the new market being subject there to high rates of taxation and inflation.

The first two generations of 308 live together

The first generation Peugeot 308, marketed from 2007 to 2014 in our region, is still in the catalog of the manufacturer in the country of Fangio. Restyled in 2015, it is offered in both petrol and diesel with power levels ranging from 115 hp to 165 hp, with a starting price equivalent to around €25,000. But the 308 II, just replaced by a third iteration in France, is also available in Argentina as 308 S and could continue there for some time while its replacement has just been launched here.
A sporty 2008 in Argentina

The first Peugeot 2008 of the name, launched in 2013 and withdrawn from the French market in 2019, is still offered in certain Latin American countries such as Brazil and therefore Argentina. There, the small SUV was entitled to an update almost three years ago and is only available only in a Sport finish associated with a 1.6 L THP 165 hp engine, he asks for the equivalent of just over €35,000.
A Partner in the catalog for 24 years
The prize for seniority goes to the first-generation Peugeot Partner, still marketed in Argentina while in France two generations have already succeeded this 1996 MPV since it was discontinued in 2008. It was launched there in 1998. Some improvements were made to it across the Atlantic in 2017 and it is available as a panel utility vehicle as well as a ” tourism” elevated Patagonica, equivalent to our Grand Raid variant. In this version, it offers 92 hp in diesel or 115 hp in petrol with a starting price equivalent to around €26,000.

Note that its “twin” from Citroën, the original Berlingo, also remains available in Argentina as the C3 II and the C3 Picasso, raised and renamed C3 Aircross.
