Contrary to what one might think, it is not the youngest children who are the most sensitive to pollution.
Japanese researchers compared the levels of different pollutants with the number of hospitalizations for asthma attacks. Thus, children aged 2 to 5 are the most sensitive to ozone peaks during the hot season. They are also more often hospitalized than children under 2 or older children. Up to the age of 14, young people are still very sensitive. Beyond that, asthma attacks would not be related to pollution.
