A prevalence of obesity that varies by region: the weight of social disparities
-The prevalence of overweight is 32% in women and 46% in men, including 11% obesity for both sexes.
· The regions most affected by obesity are Nord-Pas de Calais (18%), Lorraine (17%) and Picardy (17%). The least affected regions are the Midi-Pyrénées region (7%), Aquitaine (8%), Brittany (9%), Limousin (9%) and the PACA region (10%).
The percentage of overweight or obese subjects increases with age (except for obesity in subjects over 65).

· The prevalence of obesity is significantly higher in low-income subjects (twice as high compared to higher income).
· Leanness concerns 5% of women (6% of women with a higher education qualification) and 2% of men.
