Of course, the streaming service wants to maximize the chance of success, so Netflix has hired the Russo Brothers for the directing. You may know them from their work for the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Captain America: Winter Soldier and Civil War† Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame† Netflix thus combines the best of Marvel and the best of Stranger Things.

A teenager, a robot and a bum
The film is set in a retro-futuristic past. That is, an alternate version of the year 1997. Millie Bobby Brown plays an orphaned teenager who, along with a mysterious robot and an eccentric bum, search for her younger brother in the western United States.
The Hollywood Reporter also thinks that there will be another Marvel star in the film. They tip Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill in the Guardians of the Galaxy from the Marvel franchise. Whether he then signs for the younger brother or perhaps the bum, they are unable to report.
Netflix has not announced a release date, but production will begin this fall.
