After the scandal of contaminated milk produced by Lactalis, it is another brand of infant milk that is concerned by a risk of contamination by bacteria.
A reminder of infant formula as a preventive measure
In this case, it is the milk of the Prémibio brand, the Premilait 1st age milk. The risk of contamination in question is quite serious, since it is enterobacteriaceae, which can cause serious infections., like meningitis, and even septicemia.
The company determined which batch of baby milk was affected. These are lot 257 milks, whose use-by date is 09/14/2020. In all, 2,000 boxes would be affected by the preventive recall.
Strengthening of health controls on baby milk
The company would like to point out that for the moment, no case of sick child has been reported: it is therefore a preventive booster. The bacteria would have been detected during a random control on control stocks of infant milk, control carried out by the services of the Departmental Directorate of Population Protection (DDPP) of Vendée.
Controls have in fact been stepped up since the scandal that hit infant milks produced by Lactalis.
