What do you say? Netflix will improve the service for the deaf and hard of hearing.
you might enjoy Netflix to the fullest in image and sound. Unfortunately, that is not for everyone. For the deaf and hard of hearing, for example, it is a completely different viewing experience. Fortunately, the American streaming service also thinks of this target group.
It mainly depends on which country you live in, because in many countries there is not yet extensive support. That is now changing. Netflix is going to support support for the deaf and hard of hearing in 10 new languages. These include the languages French, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian. More languages will be added in the long run.
The support comes in the form of special subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. Audio descriptions and dubbing are also part of the whole. There is one caveat. The support only applies to Netflix Original movies and series. Unfortunately, a well-known Hollywood film in this way is not included.
Netflix has had a mediocre first quarter from a business perspective. With these innovations, the American streaming service is able to reach an unprecedented target group, which in turn can result in more subscribers. And of course it’s nice for the deaf and hard of hearing that Netflix hears them this way.
