In May, Netflix will add four surprisingly good games to the streaming service. The highlight? The brilliant card game Exploding Kittens.
Recently, anyone with a Netflixaccount games download and play for free. Slowly but surely, the streaming giant is expanding its catalog. As of this writing, three new, surprisingly entertaining games have been added. But the best option won’t come until the end of May.
Netflix introduces 4 new games
Anyone with a Netflix account can access the Games tab via the Android and iOS mobile application. There are the games recorded by Netflix with a link to the respective app store. These are usually paid applications or free apps with in-app purchases. Netflix offers just like Apple Arcade on the other hand, completely free versions without further microtransactions.
The four new games are:
- dragon up (now available)
- moonlighter (now available)
- Townsmen – A Kingdom Rebuilt (now available)
- Exploding Kittens – The Game (from May 31)
Dragon Up is an arcade game where the player has to collect dragons to earn things. Not very exciting, but perhaps interesting for the little ones.
Moonlighter is a legit action RPG in which the player manages a shop during the day. In the evening you then go on an adventure to defeat monsters. If you’re a fan, there’s also one extended PC version†
Townsmen – A Kingdom Rebuilt is a grand strategy game in which the player builds a medieval village into a full-fledged city. Players must manage all kinds of resources and their subjects.
Finally, Netflix is adding the best of the four games later this month: Exploding Kittens. Originally released as a hugely successful Kickstarter, this card game is now playable in digital form. Players take turns drawing a card. Whoever draws the Exploding Kitten is dead. Unless that person can use special cards to prevent this. The game features hilarious art design and innovative ways to play.
