Many factors can trigger seizures migraine. They vary according to the sensitivities of each one. For a person it will be more after eating certain foods, for others changes in atmospheric pressure …
In order to identify the conditions for the onset of seizures, it is advisable to keep a “migraine diary”: note the food consumed in the last 24 hours, the symptoms (visual disturbances, seizures always occurring during menstruation, etc.), its psychological situation (stress…), external conditions (bright light, noise, weather report…). By identifying the products or situations that trigger these headaches, it is possible to reduce or eliminate the seizures. Here are some basic tips for all migraine sufferers:
– Eat balanced, without skipping meals: hunger is a triggering factor of crisis.
– Pay attention to the foods you eat: the chocolate, nuts, fermented cheeses, yogurts, caffeine or lack of caffeine and frozen foods are often blamed.
– No alcohol abuse, especially white wine.
– Avoid smoky atmospheres.
– Do not linger in noisy places, very bright or giving off strong odors (fried foods, perfume, deodorant…).
– A yawn? Hop to bed! Respect your sleep pattern : avoid staggered hours (late sunsets, late mornings).
– To relax – stress is often a trigger of crisis – play sports: swimming is a good preventive tool because it erases muscle tension. Also think about relaxation: massages, sophrology, reflexology, yoga… You will learn to let go and evacuate the excess of stress.
– Some pills can be badly supported and trigger migraine attacks. In this case, talk to your doctor who will prescribe another one.
