Microsoft’s ‘One Outlook’ spotted online

Microsoft has been working on a new web version of the Outlook mail application for over a year. Until now, this version was not accessible to people outside the company.

But that now seems to be changing, as some work and school accounts are offering the new design. At first glance, One Outlook looks very much like the web version that everyone uses when you go to outlook.com.

That doesn’t mean that One Outlook, as the design is called, does not offer any new options. For example, you can adjust the ribbon at the top and opt for a traditional Outlook style. At the time of writing, this design does not yet work with regular accounts.

In addition, you will see some options in the edge of the window, at the top. This makes the service more like an app than a web client. This so-called One Outlook app for Windows 11 is intended to replace the current Outlook application for the operating system.

It is then about the current Mail app that you find on your computer with Windows 10 or Windows 11 on board. It is still too early for that, as One Outlook is referred to as ‘preview’ or ‘beta’ in many places. Finally, this version of the app is also planned to come to macOS; however, the release date is not yet known.
