After Tanzania, the United States, Japan, India and Australia, it is in Namibia that Michel Cymes and Adriana Karembeu meet for the 16th issue of “Extraordinary Powers of the Human Body”. This southern African country was not chosen at random: known for its rich fauna, it was the ideal place to shoot this show dedicated to the relationships, commonalities and differences between humans and animals.
Decipher the functioning of animals
The goal of this trip? Meet cheetahs, elephants, geckos, white spiders and sea lions in order to unveil the secrets of their communication with each other, but also with humans. For the occasion, Michel Cymes and Adriana Karembeu have a companion of choice: Norin Chaï, veterinarian and deputy director of the Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes, in Paris. Together, they will go from Windhoek to Swakopmund, via Damaraland in order to decipher the physiological, anatomical and cerebral functioning of several species.
Why does the cheetah run so fast? How do sea lions manage to find their congeners? Why do we speak of “elephant memory”? How do these species ensure their survival? So many questions that will not be left unanswered in this new issue of “Extraordinary Powers of the Human Body” and which will indirectly shed light on how humans function.
Top Santé is a partner of the program “The extraordinary powers of the human body”, broadcast Tuesday October 3 at 8:55 pm on France 2.
