A collaboration of Mack and Driza-Bone
When reading the name Driza-Bone, we also thought it was the lost member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony who had partnered with truck brand Mack. But Driza-Bone is apparently an Australian clothing brand, which mainly makes cowboy-like stuff. Both the clothing brand and the truck brand, in their own words, focus on gear for harsh conditions and that is why they are entering into a collaboration. Driza-Bone and Mack have transformed a Super-Liner into the matte black appearance you see here.
The yellow accents come from the brand’s corporate identity. In addition to the paint and pinstriping, the truck is standard, although no one will complain about a lack of power. The 16-litre inline six diesel engine in the matte black Mack Super-Liner produces 685 hp and 3,100 Nm. It is the most powerful engine you can get in a truck in Australia. The power is not just something to boast about, because as you can read on the front bumper, this Mack is suitable for road train to be deployed.
road trains in Australia
Because not all parts of Australia are easily accessible by train, they make down under use of so-called road trains. These trucks can tow up to six trailers. Combinations from 36.5 meters fall into this category and the length can go up to a maximum of 53.5 meters. For obvious reasons, the long combinations should not be allowed near major cities. As a driver, you obviously do not want to enter the center of Sydney with three trailers. However, this matte black Mack will not soon have to pull so much load: it is mainly used for promotional purposes.
