Little brother of the Levante, the Grecale will be presented in November and marketed next year. But L’argus was able to photograph a prototype of the Maserati family SUV in the Paris region, with a camouflage that no longer really hides the curved lines of this competitor of the Porsche Macan.
French manufacturers are not the only ones to test their future innovations in France. It is in Vaucresson, in the Hauts-de-Seine (92), not far from Paris, that Argus came face to face with a prototype of the Grecale. Parked in a classic parking space, the next Maserati SUV was approached without too much difficulty… Even if its two occupants did not necessarily appreciate having their portrait taken in this way. To counter the “scoop hunters”, whether professional or amateur, the Trident brand had however taken the lead. She herself had released pictures of other prototypes wearing the same camouflage.
A close cousin of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio
The format does not necessarily appear clearly in the photos. But when you see him in the street like this, this Grecale is much more compact than its big brother Levante. Normal: the length goes from 5.03 m to 4.70 m, a size similar to that of its main rival, the Porsche Macan. It’s also very close to an Alfa Romeo Stelvio, which is based on the same Giorgio platform and is produced in the same Italian factory in Cassino. To stand out, the Maserati takes inspiration from the recent MC20 super sports car with a fairly low-placed oval grille, small, almost rectangular headlights, and slender taillights.
