Lamborghini announces a new Countach for the 50th anniversary of its iconic supercar. From corroborating sources, this limited series would carry the suffix LPI 800-4, would be animated by a hybrid V12 and would cost around 3 million euros.
Between the 50e anniversary of the Countach, the official announcement of a second Lamborghini V12 in limited series and increasingly insistent hallway noises as Monterey Car Week approached, all the clues matched to announce a very exclusive Lamborghini inspired by one of the most iconic sports cars of the 1970s and 1980s. It’s now official: a new Lamborghini Countach is about to emerge.
A silhouette that has stood the test of time
The builder with the bull announces in video ” the rebirth of a dream “And promises that” the new Lamborghini Countach is coming “. This teaser is accompanied by an image showing the car under a sheet, not enough to reveal much as all the Lamborghinis that have followed the Countach until today (except for the LM002 and Urus) have taken on its characteristic profile. The last frame of the clip, however, lets us guess that the new Countach will be presented in white.

The Countach LPI 800-4 hybrid in limited series
Lamborghini is still stingy with information, but leaks are increasing about its latest creation. The car would be called Countach LPI 800-4. It would be based on the Sian FKP 37, from which it would take the atmospheric 6.5 V12 combined with an electric motor powered by supercapacitors within a hybrid engine sending, if we trust its supposed name, 800 hp to all four wheels. . It would therefore be less than the combined 819 hp of the Sian, unless the number 800 refers only to the power of the thermal block.
A photo probably published by Lamborghini in the application reserved for its customers allows a glimpse of a rear air intake reminiscent of that of the Countach first of the name. The Sant’Agata Bolognese firm plans to produce 112 copies of the Countach LPI 800-4, of which the unit price would be around 3 million euros. The presentation of the car is scheduled for August 15 at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, California (USA), as part of Monterey Car Week 2021.
