Alert to sectarian movements. Conferences extolling the merits of spiritual healing were to be organized in three French cities.
Conferences organized to advocate spiritual healing. It is the new phenomenon that worries the Mission to fight against sectarian aberrations (Miviludes). In an interview with AFP this week, its president, Serge Blisko, sounded the alarm on a group called “Bruno Gröning’s Circle of Friends”. Already in 2005, a report from Miviludes was concerned about the discourse and methods of this association.
This is based on the theories of Bruno Gröning, active in Germany in the first half of the 20th century. Bruno Gröning explained to his followers that disease was part of the natural state of man, and that any cure could be done in a spiritual way, without recourse to science or medicine.
Bruno Gröning proclaimed that there was nothing incurable, nothing that God could not heal. For Serge Blisko, the association is therefore considered dangerous for the people who join it, the risk being “the abandonment of treatment and endangering the lives of patients”
Canceled conferences
The “Bruno Gröning’s Circle of Friends” had planned to meet in several cities in France, and to broadcast the words of their preacher, now deceased. Conferences in Paris, Reims and Amiens were envisaged.
Since the alert from Miviludes, two of them have been canceled.
Beyond the health risks borne by this movement, the Mission is also worried about the exorbitant cost of these conferences, which can weigh heavily on the participants, and keep them even further away from their loved ones. Hoping that the last conference held in Reims quickly knows the fate of the other two.
A sectarian movement dangerous for #health which mainly wants the money of the most vulnerable …
