Summer seriously scratches the beauty capital of our hair. First responsible, the sun, which burns them, breaks them and makes them porous. But also the salt and the wind, which dry them out, the chlorine which weakens them and discolors them. Finally, the sand that irritates the scalp. As a result, the hydrolipidic film that surrounds the hair is altered, resulting in a rough feel, split ends and an ugly “straw bale” effect. To limit breakage, it is better to take the lead and equip yourself with hair care containing a sunscreen. Make a habit of applying it from root to tip, several times a day if necessary.
To the beach, choose an oil or a gel, unbeatable to create a very glamorous wet effect. After swimming, in the sea or in the pool, rinse your hair with clean water to remove salt, chlorine or sand. Sponge them quickly and wait until they are dry to tie them up, because they do not like humidity.
At the mountain, opt for a spray protection, very practical, whose moisturizing formula will discipline your hair. Even simpler: a scarf or a cap will effectively repel UV attacks.
When to fix…
After prolonged exposure, going through the “care” box is essential. Dry, sensitized or long hair will find a beautiful material. Hence the importance of shampoo when returning from the beach. Choose a gentle or nourishing product if the lengths are damaged. Then apply a detangling conditioner or regenerating mask daily as needed. Leave to dry, if possible in the open air, or use the hair dryer, always set to the “cold air” position so as not to sensitize them further.
At altitude, air pollution is rarely a concern: no need to wash them too often. If they are slightly dried out, use a nourishing treatment on the lengths.
SOS color
Heat, salt and chlorine have no equal in dulling colored hair. Before the bath, apply palm oil, which prevents the color from “bleeding out”. Afterwards, use shampoos and conditioners for colored hair, containing sunscreens and boost them with regenerating masks.
