Pretty yellow-orange asteracea, Arnica montana has more than one turn in its flower head! It strews the alpine mountain pastures. Hence its little names: tobacco from the Savoyards, herb with falls, plantain from the Alps … It is above all the plant of young and old turbulent. Several health authorities such as the WHO (World Health Organization) and Commission E in Germany, recommend it for external use against hematomas, bruises, sprains and other muscle and joint disorders … Popularity across the Rhine which even put the plant in jeopardy. Its exploitation has since been regulated and another variety with identical properties is cultivated, Arnica chamissonis.
An anti-heavy legs massage oil
The recipe: put a small handful of arnica flowers in a 250 ml bottle and fill the container with calophyllum vegetable oil. Leave to macerate in the sun for 10 to 15 days. Filter.
In a 10 ml brown glass bottle, pour 15 drops of essential oil (EO) of cypress, 15 drops of EO of pistachio lentisk, 5 drops of EO of Italian helichrysum and 10 drops of EO of patchouli. Fill the 10 ml bottle with the arnica flower maceration. Mix well.
How to use it ?
Massage your legs, always going from bottom to top, with this aromatic preparation, once or twice a day.
An anti-inflammatory preparation
Recipe : place a small handful of arnica flowers in a 250 ml bottle and fill the container with calophyllum vegetable oil. Leave to macerate in the sun for 10 to 15 days. Filter.
In a 10 ml brown glass bottle, pour 15 drops of essential oil (EO) of wintergreen, 15 drops of EO of lemon eucalyptus, 10 drops of EO of ginger and 10 drops of EO of noble laurel. Fill the 10 ml bottle with the arnica maceration. Mix well.
How to use it ?
Apply the preparation to the painful area and massage very lightly until complete penetration.
A “2 in 1” for better healing
Recipe : pour 1/2 tsp. teaspoon of vegetable oil (jojoba oil, for example) in the palm of your hand. Add 1 drop of EO of cistus ladanifère, 1 drop of EO of asp lavender and 1 drop of EO of Italian helichrysum.
How to use it ?
Start by taking 3 to 5 granules of Arnica montana 9 CH, every 2 to 3 hours for 2 to 3 days, before then after the procedure. In the days following the operation, massage the scar with the mixture of essential oils, 4 to 6 times a day, until the pain disappears and the wound heals. This treatment is recommended for all skin irritations (inflammations, etc.). This preparation also relieves insect bites.
In the event of a fall: the homeo solution
It limits the formation of lumps after trauma. Take 3 to 5 Arnica montana granules 5 CH or 9 CH. Immediately after the shock or fall, then every 15 minutes for 1 hour, then every hour for 4-5 hours.
In the event of a violent shock, one can associate with the homeo treatment, a massage of the injured area with essential oil of Italian helichrysum to avoid the hematoma (blue).
Against bleeding: the homeo solution too
Arnica granules are hemostatic: they reduce the bleeding time. Take 3 to 5 granules of arnica montana 5 CH or 9 CH every 30 minutes until the complete bleeding has stopped (especially from the nose …). You can also slip a cotton ball into the nostril on which you will have placed a drop of essential oil of cistus ladanifère.
Precautions for use
• Do not swallow it. Arnica preparations should never be taken orally, except in the form of homeopathic granules.
• Never apply it to a wound. No ointment or ointment based on arnica on an open or ulcerated wound. Very rare cases of allergies have indeed been reported.
• Do a test before using arnica essential oil. Put a drop in the crook of the elbow. No redness after 10 minutes? No worries.
• Avoid contact with the eyes.
Seek medical advice in the event of pregnancy or breastfeeding.
