With the heat approaching, many people would like to lose a few kilos again. And a flat stomach is certainly a plus for those who are looking forward to a holiday. A few tips.
1. Improve your posture
Often your tummy looks worse than it is because you don’t have good posture. Make sure your ears are nicely above your shoulders, your shoulders directly above your hips, your hips above your knees, and your knees above your ankles. Keep your shoulders straight and try to push your navel towards your spine. Distribute your weight over the ball and heel of both feet.
2. Don’t just do abdominal exercises
Abs are good, but just training your abs won’t get you there. The muscles of your back and buttocks also play a role in getting rid of your tummy. Pilates is a good way to train all these muscles at the same time.
3. Eliminate oiliness
You can’t get rid of a tummy just by exercising more. You should also watch your food. Cut out fatty foods, drink less alcohol, eat small amounts more often. Research has also shown that people who skip breakfast are more likely to get a tummy tuck.
4. Practice all day long
You don’t necessarily have to have a lot of time to train your abs. You can use this simple trick in all sorts of everyday activities: stand up straight, take a deep breath, then exhale deeply, drawing your navel toward your spine. Do this while waiting at the checkout in the supermarket, at a reception or at work.
5. Be realistic
Keep your physique in mind when setting your goal. Maybe you want a flat stomach like Beyoncé, but that is not feasible for you. Think about what is realistic, and aim for it. And give it some time. You will not get a flat stomach within a few days.
