AP-HP hospitals will deliver new gowns for patients, which no longer show their buttocks.
Cross the corridor of the hospital to stretch your legs a little and move from your bed. Walk around, then notice the amused looks that rise. Turn around, come back to your room, take a look in the mirror and understand: you have your buttocks in the air.
In the hospital, the cut of the gowns worn by patients, characterized by an opening at the level of the seat, is puzzling. Why then have you designed such a garment? What cruel spirit is at the origin of this strange clothing creation, which plunges patients into situations that are at least embarrassing, if not humiliating?
AP-HP equips itself
We may never have the answer to that question, but one thing is certain: blouses with a rear opening will soon be a thing of the past. Already in 2012, a petition launched by a doctor raised the problems associated with this hospital outfit, deemed to be detrimental to the dignity of patients, and demanded their withdrawal.
Four years later, Parisian hospitals have taken the issue head on and are preparing to offer a new collection of gowns, with covered buttocks option, reports the newspaper The Parisian.
These new gowns, which protect the virtue of those who wear them, should arrive in the 39 hospitals of the Assistance publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) by the end of the year.
“The AP-HP is completing the renewal, which began in 2014, of the 125,000 old hospital outfits. Other establishments have taken the fold: in Lyon, Marseille, Lille ”, specifies the newspaper.
