â??¢ People who are on the holiday route to be particularly vigilant in transport, in particular by planning to take with them for any trip by car or train sufficient amounts of water.
â??¢ To fragile people and those most at risk (elderly people over 65, disabled or sick people at home, dependent people, pregnant women, parents of young children…) to drink water regularly without waiting to feel thirsty.
– Avoid going out at the hottest hours and spending several hours a day in a cool place (cinema, municipal library, supermarket, museum…).
– To avoid physical exertion.
– To keep the accommodation as fresh as possible by closing windows and shutters during the day and opening them at night.
– To eat in sufficient quantity, even if the heat takes away your appetite, but not to drink alcohol.
And pay attention to interactions with certain medications, including diuretics prescribed to treat hypertension, drugs against epilepsy or anti-inflammatories, toxic to the kidneys and liver when it is hot. Do not stop your treatment but drink twice as much as usual to dilute the drug compounds.
