Healthcare employees will receive a one-time tax-free bonus of 1000 euros this autumn for their efforts during the corona crisis. “With this bonus, we show our appreciation from the House of Representatives and the cabinet,” said Minister Martin van Rijn of Medical Care and Sport.
The money is intended for nurses, carers, cleaners and other support staff in all sectors of care. So also for nursing home care, hospital care, ambulance care, care for the disabled, rehabilitation care, district nursing, youth care and mental health care. From 1 October they can submit an application to claim the bonus.
During the summer, further details will be given on how the subsidy can be paid out as effectively and simply as possible. The basic principle is that the administrative burden for healthcare institutions should be kept as low as possible.
In total, the cabinet is allocating 800 million euros for the bonus scheme, this is how the Algemeen Dagblad writes.
