A 54-year-old British man was convinced his wife was unfaithful: it turned out his suspicions were the result of a cancerous brain tumour.

In a relationship for 8 years and married since July 2020… Andy and Gemma Hampton’s relationship was going well until the 50-year-old’s behavior changed completely in 2022.
The father of four was convinced his wife was cheating on him and lost interest in his family. Eventually, the troubled couple later discovered that his suspicious behavior was caused by a brain tumor.
Brain cancer: Man wrongly thought his wife was cheating on him
In May 2022, the couple welcomed a baby boy named Henley. During the emotional birth, Andy fell asleep. While this might be a funny story to tell on every birthday, his wife had noticed other more worrying behaviors including a lack of interest in his loved ones and memory loss.
“I asked Andy to change Henley’s diaper, and he told me he had a headache and I should do it.”his wife remembers in the British press. “At first I thought it was an excuse and that he was having trouble adjusting to life with two young children.”
She continues: “It was like Andy wasn’t listening to me, and because I kept pointing out things he was doing wrong, his paranoia led him to believe things that weren’t true.”. “He kept saying he knew it was all in his head, but he couldn’t stop his thoughts.”
The father-of-four realised he needed to see a doctor when he couldn’t get a duvet out of its cover. On the day of his GP appointment, he suffered severe vomiting and was rushed to hospital. Tests revealed he had a cancerous brain tumour called glioblastoma.

Following this diagnosis, an operation was scheduled for May 31, 2023 to shrink the tumor. This was followed by six weeks of combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
If her husband was not “cured” After this treatment, Gemma quickly noticed encouraging changes. “Immediately after the operation, Andy’s mood changed and his personality resembled that of old Andy.”
With the various treatments, the fifty-year-old’s sight and hearing have been affected. However, the family considers itself lucky. “He was initially given a prognosis of 12 to 18 months, but Andy is a fighter, and he feels more like his old self after stopping chemotherapy.”explains the wife.
Andy and his family have been involved in charity projects to to collect funds for research and to raise awareness among the general public about brain cancer.
