According to the Regional Health Agency (ARS), these four newborns are “babies born at about 25 weeks”. They were infected with Staphylococcus aureus.

On September 7, the ARS ordered an inspection in the service concerned in order to determine the exact causes of these deaths and to identify the measures to be deployed to prevent this type of infection. In this hospital, which receives more than 52,000 patients each year, 3,000 births take place.
