Those aren’t the tires he smells…
You don’t have to be a foodie to smell the difference between burnt rubber and burnt clutch. If you are in doubt during your burnout: if it smells gross, then it is your clutch anyway. The driver of this Nissan 300ZX had a hard time making the distinction and that cost him dearly. During a meeting he tries to put two nice stripes on the asphalt, but it is not the tires that slip.
He lets the tachometer needle bounce hard against the limiter without noticing that his clutch is slipping. No one even tells him to stop quickly. The attempted burnout ends with a loud bang and glowing bits of his clutch on the ground. He is probably allowed to look for a new transmission. Fortunately, the costs will be somewhat lower than with this AMG.
