Oil-lime liniment for the change
Composed of lime milk and olive oil, the oleocalcary liniment has been used for generations of mothers as milk for the diaper. To benefit from the protective and nourishing film that it leaves on the skin, it does not rinse. It is found in pharmacies, drugstores and supermarkets, but it is very easy to manufacture.
Recipe :
• Mix 10 cl of lime water (in pharmacies) and 10 cl of first cold pressed olive oil (organic).
• For a more homogeneous result, you can add 1 teaspoon of glycerin, previously melted over low heat in olive oil.
• You can replace olive oil with apricot kernel oil (or make a 50/50 mixture).
For a treating action on diaper rash, Dr Christine Coquart recommends adding some essential oils: 3 drops of essential oil of lavender, geranium and palma rosa for 20 cl of liniment.
Good to know : the liniment is also used to treat diaper rash.
A very soft bath
Emollient, moisturizing, soothing, oats are the friend of eczematous skin. Slip some in baby’s bath.
Recipe :
• Let infuse 200 g of organic oatmeal in 1 liter of boiling water.
• Filter and then pour the milk obtained into your baby’s bath water.
Another solution to soften the bath water: baking soda. If your water is hard, add 2 teaspoons of baking soda to your baby’s bath water and their skin will be happy!
Oil-lime liniment to hydrate
After the bath, moisturize your baby’s skin with oleocalcium liniment “You can add essential oils up to a maximum of 5%”, advises Dr Christine Coquart in her book. So for a 150 ml bottle of liniment, add 3 drops of each of these essential oils: lavender, geranium and palmarosa.
