A lot of people use this browser. And that may be the problem, they are supreme. That’s why Google Chrome goes to the buttons.
A good 2.6 billion people use Google Chrome. A huge number. These users have faced many security threats in recent months. But now the biggest threat may well come from Google itself!
Google Chrome to the buttons
The Register wrote an explosive editorial comment. In it, they issued a clear warning to all Chrome users. This is because the changes that Google makes to the browser will break important website functions. There’s nothing you can do about this at all, because it’s designed exactly that way.
“Part of the amazing thing about the internet is that you can still go to the very first web page and view it in any browser,” explains Scott Gilbertson of The Register. “But when the web developer community finds out through a tweet that Google is going to break a lot of websites, you know the communication has failed.”
Plans Google
The tweet to which Gilbertson refers came from Chrome software engineer and manager Emily Stark. She revealed Google’s plans to no longer support elements of JavaScript dialogs and warning windows via third-party iframes. This can affect various elements of the standard web browsing experience, especially embedded content, including YouTube videos.
In addition, Stark said that “breaking changes often happen on the web” and it was up to developers to adapt. But Gilbertson points out that “she’s completely wrong” and describes Google Chrome’s dominance of changes in how the web functions as “disturbing” and “horrifying”. Whether we are all awake to this, that is the question. Of course, there are other good web browsers.
