There are several great free music notation programs out there, but none are as professional as Dorico SE. SE is the smallest brother in a family of products, the most expensive version of which costs no less than 559 euros. That version is used by professional composers, but SE will get you a long way at home. You can create very attractive sheet music with it, which you can also play back in excellent quality by the program. The most important limitation is the number of parts per piece of music (2), but a lot can be done with that too.
