Ford is marketing the restyled Focus in France with a starting price set at € 29,000, a significant price increase which can be explained in particular by the abandonment of smaller engines and new finishes more supplied from the entry level.
The restyled Ford Focus, recognizable by its logo in the center of the grille but also by its redesigned lights, new shields and more horizontal bonnet, made its entry into the French market. The compact abandons several engines offered on “phase 1”, namely its diesel units of 95 hp, 150 hp and 190 hp, the small 1 L EcoBoost petrol engine of 100 hp, as well as the non-Flexifuel and non-Flexifuel versions. electrified 125 hp EcoBoost. Only the following engines remain:
- 1.0 L FlexiFuel Hybrid 125 hp (petrol / E85 micro-hybrid)
- 1.0 L EcoBoost Hybrid 155 hp (micro-hybrid gasoline)
- 2.3 L EcoBoost 280 hp (gasoline, on ST only)
- 1.5 L EcoBlue 120 hp (diesel)
In addition, the range of finishes has been completely revised for a more upscale positioning. These developments are reflected in a marked increase in prices. The Focus now starts at € 29,000, an increase of € 1,400 for the base price for an equivalent engine. The Focus SW station wagon, offered in the same configurations as the compact, requires € 1,200 more than the latter.
Redesigned finishes for the Focus
The entry-level finish of the Focus is now called Titanium X Business. It comes as standard, among others:
- automatic air conditioning
- 12.3 ” digital dashboard
- 13 ” central touch screen
- next-generation SYNC 4 multimedia system with GPS
- Connected navigation (1 year subscription included)
- cruise control / speed limiter
- reversing camera
- front and rear parking cameras
- hill start aid
- lane keeping aid
- LED spotlights
- induction charger
- dark tinted rear windows
- 16 ” steel rims
The ST-Line X model takes the endowment and adds an aggressive body kit, a saddlery and a steering wheel with red stitching, as well as a sport suspension. Devoid of these sporting attributes, The Focus Titanium Vignale benefits from a windshield, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a ski hatch in particular. Both variants additionally feature 17-inch alloy rims.
Two finishes for the raised Focus Active
The Ford Focus Active, a raised version of both the compact and the station wagon, is renewed. Its X pack includes the same equipment as the ST-Line X, the sports kit being replaced by a suspension raised by 3 cm, black body protections, roof bars and specific upholstery. The Focus Active X is also entitled to the driving modes “Trail” and “Low Grip” in addition to the traditional “Eco”, “Normal” and “Sport” of the rest of the range.
The Active Vignale finish adds to this range:
- hands-free motorized tailgate
- heated front seat and steering wheel
- ski hatch
- 18 ” rims

New seats for the Ford Focus ST
The range of the restyled Ford Focus is still topped by the sporty ST, now only offered in gasoline as indicated above. The Recaro bucket seats from the previous version were replaced by Ford Performance models. Its body kit, its upholstery, its flattened steering wheel and its gear lever knob are exclusive to it. It is also entitled to an aluminum crankset.
On the equipment side, it receives an electronic locking differential, a head-up display, a wide-angle reversing camera, two USB ports at the rear, adaptive LED headlamps and heated front seats, not to mention the links to the ground adapted to the 280 hp of its engine. Its price climbs from € 2,400 to € 38,550, which remains € 4,750 less than a Renault Mégane RS of 300 hp. Note that the French is no longer offered with a double-clutch transmission while the American has exclusively a manual gearbox.
