Ford removes two finishes, one engine and several options from the catalog of its Fiesta, but also the three-door body of its city car. The prices of the model increase at the same time. The range remains rich, properly equipped, and little affected by the penalty on CO2.
With a few days in advance, it’s time for spring cleaning for the Ford Fiesta. Like its competitors, the manufacturer with the blue oval must balance its accounts between demand management, shortage of components and reduction of CO2 emissions.2. So, as elsewhere, the offer of the versatile city car is tightening around its core range. This does not prevent its prices from increasing by €400 on all versions. The Fiesta escapes any ecological malus (excluding options), except in its ST version which receives a tax of €1,074.
Two finishes and one less engine
The Ford Fiesta was until now among the last cars offered in three-door; It’s over. Only the five-door body is now available. The raised Fiesta Active is still there. The Cool & Connect and Titanium Vignale finishes, which ensured entry and top of the range respectively, are leaving the catalog. The 155 hp EcoBoost Hybrid micro-hybrid engine also disappears. As for the options, finished the panoramic sunroof as well as the combination of a roof and black mirrors to contrast with the dominant color. The digital instrument cluster, which was standard on Titanium Vignale and the rest on ST, is a €400 option on ST-Line X and Active-X. The adaptive cruise control is also optional (300 €) on almost all finishes, such as the induction charger (150 €) for example.
The Ford Fiesta from €19,190
The increase in prices combined with the disappearance of the Cool & Connect configuration brings the entry price of the Ford Fiesta to €19,190, which is €1,800 more than before. It is now the Titanium Business finish that provides the basic offer, for individuals and professionals. Its standard equipment includes among others:
- automatic air conditioning
- Ford Sync multimedia system with 8” touch screen
- LED spotlights
- reversing radar
- cruise control / speed limiter
- sign recognition
- automatic lights
- hill start assist
- lane keeping aid
- line crossing alert
- fatigue detector
- electric front and rear windows
- 15” steel rims
Sporty or adventurous atmosphere
The sporty ST-Line finish takes up the above equipment. It adds a honeycomb grille, body kit, firmer suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and black upholstery with red stitching. The ST-Line X model also offers:
- navigation system
- reversing camera
- fog lights
- automatic wipers
- wrong-way driving alert
- tinted rear windows
- mood lighting
- keyless entry and start
The enhanced Fiesta Active X, with body protection and a grille with vertical slats, takes up this endowment. The city car range is still topped by the turbulent Fiesta ST and its 200 hp 1.5 L turbo EcoBoost three-cylinder. Matrix LED projectors, 18-inch rims, bucket seats and a digital dashboard are added to the equipment of the ST-Line X on board. For 950 €, the ST can also benefit from a Performance package including Quaife limited slip differential and a “launch control” system for cannon starts.
