November 21, 2008 – Five first projects caught the attention of the Fund for the Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles, which saw the light of day last year, following an agreement between the Government of Quebec and the Lucie and André Foundation Chagnon1-2.
The following organizations will pursue various objectives related to the promotion of better lifestyles:
- The Montreal Urban Ecology Center: develop green neighborhoods to increase safe active transportation;
- Vélo Québec: get young Quebecers moving in their daily commute;
- Extenso: improve the food offer and practice in childcare services in Quebec;
- ÉquiLibre, action group on weight: increase the distribution of the Good in your head, well in your skin program in high schools;
- Quebec coalition for the weight problem: assess the possibility of limiting the establishment of junk food restaurants around schools through zoning.
It is the Management Company of the Fund for the Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles 4 who will supervise these organizations in the realization of their project. Investments for its projects total $ 6,391,525.
