This Friday, May 20, 2022, the prefecture of Hauts-de-Seine (92) indicated that they mobilized State services after 363 pupils of different levels and 20 teachers from the Sophie-Barat school group (in the town of Châtenay-Malabry, in the Paris suburbs) contracted food poisoning.
It was following a meal in the canteen, probably this Tuesday, May 17, 2022, that some students and members of the teaching team began to present “digestive symptoms“: repeated vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain… sometimes with fever.
Three children were hospitalized following this food poisoning
The following day, 383 adults and children were declared sick. “All were taken care of“clarified the prefecture, which added that 3 children were”punctually hospitalized“; one of them is, to date, still under observation. Of course, the collective catering services of the Sophie-Barat school group were closed this Friday, May 20, 2022, and this “until further notice“.
What exactly happened in the canteen? For the moment, nothing is certain: “analyzes are in progress by the services of the DDPP [Direction Départementale de la Protection des Populations], in conjunction with the canteen service provider and the head of the school group to determine the origin of the poisoning“explained the prefecture. The Hauts-de-Seine regional health agency (ARS) was also mobilized. To be continued…
