At the moment, the campaign of seasonal flu vaccination at his best. Until January 31, 2017 (and since October 6, 2016), people “at risk” (that is to say seniors over 65, pregnant women and people with certain chronic diseases – asthma , diabetes, heart failure, obesity …) are invited to receive an injection of the influenza vaccine, for example by going to their general practitioner. For several weeks now, “invitation cards” have been sent by Health Insurance: in people “at risk”, the vaccine is 100% reimbursed.
However, the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM) insisted on putting the dots on the “i”: to prevent seasonal flu, homeopathy does not work. ” From homeopathic medicines with Marketing Authorization (MA) may have an indication in the prevention or treatment of influenza-like illness. But these drugs are not vaccines ”explain the health authorities. Clearly, no homeopathic remedy can replace the vaccine …
The “homeopathic vaccine”, useless and dangerous
Useless also, “homeopathic vaccines” (most often based on Influenzinum), supposedly intended to “strengthen the immune system”: “their use in place of the anti-influenza vaccine constitutes a loss of opportunity, in particular in people at risk of complications, ”says the Higher Council of Public Hygiene of France.
The flu is not a disease to be taken lightly, as explained on the Health Insurance website: every winter, the flu virus invades 2.5 million people in France. This very contagious disease can quickly become serious in the most fragile individuals: infections can occur (pneumonia …) and the risk of death is not negligible (influenza causes between 4000 and 6000 deaths per year in France, especially among seniors). If the vaccine is not 100% effective, it nevertheless constitutes the best protection to date … In short, there is no question of doing anything with our health!
