Women and orgasm? Here is a vast subject of society to which an Ifop survey carried out for the webcam site CAM4.fr attempted to answer.
This survey sought to understand whether French women have difficulty obtaining a Orgasm with their partner, the sexual practices or positions most likely to make them enjoy and the impact of the quality of their sex life on their couple.
“Because the brakes and the sources of female pleasure are little addressed in major surveys on sexuality even though they constitute one of the fundamental questions of contemporary sexology”, explains the Ifop polling institute.
The absence of orgasm is a common problem and harmful to the life of a couple
The results of the survey reveal that eight in ten French women (79%) who are sexually active admit to having had difficulty in enjoying themselves, significantly more than what the National Institute of Health and Medical Research had measured in 2006 (63%). as part of a telephone survey.
And, contrary to certain received ideas according to which one can have a couple life fully developed without orgasm, this dysorgasmia is not without effect on the quality of their sexual and sentimental life.
Women have indeed declared the degree of satisfaction with their romantic life is closely related to the frequency with which they obtain an orgasm. 96% of women who have orgasms are satisfied with their love life while only 34% of women “having little or no orgasms” enjoy their married life.
Men would be too selfish
According to the conclusions of this survey, women do not obtain an orgasm because the most practiced coitus techniques are not always those most likely to provide pleasure to the fairer sex.
“Women’s access to orgasm thus seems to be hampered by a couple’s sexuality that is still too“ phallocentric ”or somewhat reluctant to“ reverse ”roles,” explains François Kraus, Director of Studies at Ifop. “This observation thus echoes certain theses according to which“ the positions adopted are often part of games involving domination rather than balanced communication between the sexes ”.
