Lukewarm water and massage stop tearing
To combat this inconvenience, start by applying compresses of lukewarm water for at least 5 minutes – renew them so that they remain lukewarm -, then massage your upper and lower eyelids, at the edge of the eyelashes, for about 1 minute.
It is to be done morning and evening!
The smart move
Remember to blink to keep them moist. To sufficiently stimulate the secretions, there must be contact of the upper and lower eyelids. Here is an effective exercise: close your eyes for 2 seconds and open them. Repeat several times in a row and during one of them, tighten the eyelids strongly. Do this exercise at least 4 to 5 times a day, especially if you are working on a screen. An exercise to be practiced also in the event of symptoms of dry eye: burning sensation or tingling.
Fish against drought
On your plate, bet on omega-3: fatty fish, especially sardines, herring, mackerel, tuna, salmon, including canned, and rapeseed oil. These fatty acids are beneficial for dry, itchy eyes.
Compresses to soften a stye
The stye, also called compère-oriole, a small red and painful swelling on the edge of the eyelid, can open in two to four days and release pus, which makes the pain disappear. To facilitate this evacuation, boil water and apply hot compresses on the stye, renewing them, this three to four times a day.
